Blaupause in Lübeck

A place in the sun: Located directly on the Trave, with a view of the water and sun from early to late – the blueprint is one of those places that you discover almost by chance and then don’t want to leave, and which we would like to show you today for the Lübeck ZWISCHENZEILEN would like to introduce to you today. It’s not just about coffee, cake and breakfast here. In the afternoon there are juicy sourdough sandwiches and in the evening at the latest, the Blaupause becomes a cozy bar where you can enjoy a cool sundowner with a view of the Trave. Behind the concept is Marian Rojahn, who brought his café to life with a lot of passion and a clear design concept.

We wanted to create a space that invites you to linger, without the pressure to consume, at eye level with our guests.

Sitting on the plank instead of walking the plank

The large outdoor area with a view of the Trave is the heart of the blueprint. Particularly striking: the robust, home-made wooden tables – made from the old planks of the former pier in Travemünde.

It was important to us to use things with meaning. It’s not just about aesthetics, but also about origin and attitude,” says Marian.

So the furniture doesn’t just tell stories, it is stories in itself.

Breakfast with a difference

Blaupause also deliberately sets itself apart from traditional cafés when it comes to the food on offer. There is no typical cold cuts buffet here – instead, there are lovingly prepared granola bowls, vegan spreads and “yellow from the egg” scrambled eggs. The breakfast is light, creative and filling – and above all sustainable.

We make almost everything ourselves and pay attention to regional ingredients and fair purchasing.

This also applies to cakes, pastries and other daily specials – homemade, fresh, and sometimes with a little twist.

Design meets soul

If you take a seat in the blueprint, you quickly notice that it looks – and feels – different here. The cups are from HK-Living (Pst, you can also buy them here directly, really beautiful ceramics!), the ambience is minimalist but warm. Concrete meets wood, design meets coziness. Everything looks coherent and well thought out without being over the top. It is this mix of aesthetics, openness and down-to-earthness that makes the café a real feel-good place.

Think locally, do it together

The Blaupause is also a place for collaboration. Whether it’s the sourdough bread from Brotupie or events with local artists – networking is a way of life here. “Cooperation instead of competition” is a quiet motto that is reflected in the entire concept.

Beyond the borders

And because a good atmosphere can be mobile, the Blaupause team is also regularly on the road at events and festivals – with its own bar and the typical Blaupause spirit.

We want to go to places where people come together – even outside our café.

Coffee with attitude

The Blaupause is more than just a café. It is a place with attitude, with rough edges, with real stories. When you come here, you don’t just get coffee, you also get a good feeling. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a little blueprint from everyday life.

By the way: If you’re a breakfast person like me, then you should definitely try the ORIENTAL breakfast! Two rolls fried with hummus, date-garlic dip, cranberry sauce, sucuk & vegetables – a dream!

My conclusion – Oasis by the water

The Blaupause is a place to relax, unwind and feel good and a total plus: right on the River Trave and with a view of the historic salt warehouses. During the day there is a creative breakfast and fine coffee, in the evening the Blaupause becomes a cozy bar, perfect for a drink. A lovingly designed place with character – and a real little break from everyday life in Lübeck.
