In nächster Nähe zur „Liebesbrücke“ grüßt der bedeutende Komponist Johannes Brahms als Bronzeplastik. Der 1833 in Hamburg geborene Künstler hatte zu Lebzeiten selbst keinen Bezug zu unserer Hansestadt. Lübeck ist heutzutage für Liebhaber:innen seiner Musik trotzdem ein beliebtes Ziel. Die in der Nähe der Skulptur gelegene nahe Lübecker Musikhochschule erwarb die größte private Brahmssammlung samt Musikhandschriften, Briefen und Fotos, aus der sich das Brahms-Institut entwickelten.

The statue depicts Brahms in casual clothing, wearing a hat and carrying a jacket, taking a stroll. This is fitting, as it is said that some of the melodies came to the Romantic composer while walking.
