Stumbling stones in Lübeck

The Stolpersteine ) are not a typical stop along the way, as they are scattered throughout the city. They commemorate people who were persecuted during the Nazi regime. As of March 12, 2024, there were 237 of them in Lübeck, about half of them on the Old Town island.
The golden brass plaques, bearing the name and dates of birth, deportation or arrest, and death of the person in question, are always identical and are located in front of their former residence. This is reason enough to pause for a moment, remember these individuals, and reflect on the horrific crimes of National Socialism.
